Projects

The Beer Festival Committee was initiated 16 years ago, for the purpose of raising funds to support clubs and projects within the village that both enhance and improve the lives of people living here. Over the 16 years we have been fortunate in that we have only had to cancel one event in 2020 due to the corona virus/covid. The committee are all unpaid and do it as they love being part of this village.

Our proceeds have allowed us to help in the following ways:-

Each year we pay the full annual rental for the use of the pavilion for both youth club, the over 60’s, and the Potterhanworth FC pitch rental.

We have helped the local Scouts Club with donations since they established in 2021.

We contribute every year to the over 60’s club annual trip/meal out.

We help finance the volunteers who produce and deliver the local village Grapevine magazine.

In 2022 we made a contribution to Branston Community Academy who wanted to create a remembrance garden in commemoration of a member of staff and two students who recently lost their lives. One of the students was a resident here in Potterhanworth.

In celebration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee we made a contribution towards the purchase of the new flag pole and donated over £1000 to pay for two live bands as part of the village celebrations. We provided a gin bar for the evening.

Additional to the beneficiaries already mentioned we have previously contributed to Potterhanworth primary school, preschool, wrap around club (Bright Sparks), mothers and toddlers, the church oil tank shelter, restoration of the village sign and bus shelter, the Autumn Festival, the extension and alterations to the pavilion, the allotments for both adults and children and the renovation of the play park.

Overall, so far, we have managed to put back around £50,000 – which is incredible.

This is all down to the great support we get from you all and all of our incredible sponsors. Please keep supporting. Thank you.
